sää, kuvaaja Mikko JaakkolaSail Training? Charter -cruising? Look no further, Raahen Purjelaivasäätiö (Sail Training Association Raahe) with the beautiful s/y Raahen Fiia -ship is ready to take you to the adventure of a lifetime.

As a sailing trainee you will learn your part of the sailing procedures, you will be there at the hoisting of sails, cooking meals for the whole crew, enjoying the splashes of salty sea water on your face. Charter-clients get the easier part, the captain, first mate and deck hand will make sure your trip is nothing short of an unique experience. Meals can be arranged on board as well.

Raahen Purjelaivasäätiö is a sail training association located in the northern Bothnian Sea. Behind the scenes there are 60 benefactors (companies, municipalities, private persons), who donated the funds needed for the ship. S/Y RAAHEN FIIA was desingned to be a training ship, and has carried hundreds of sail-enthusiastic youth on her voyages.

At summer 2002 she saw her longest journey yet, around Iceland she went with a crew of young painters. Now she is located more securely to the Bothnian Sea, the three-year EU-project (LEADER+ funded) has given the local youth groups a change to step onboard. Some of the young sailors will be trained onwards to become deck hands and first mates, some day even captains of Raahen Fiia.
